About Sue

Why I do what I do...

I came to this work by way of personal and professional evolution, leading me to my own healing journey. I am deeply empathetic and compassionate, and have always been a listener and encourager.

I feel privileged to do what I do, helping people to feel better about themselves and more authentic, present and connected to the people in their lives. I trust that the therapeutic relationship and the therapeutic journey brings insight, empowerment and hope.

What am I like?

Key values in my work as well as personally are compassion, curiosity, honesty, humour and integrity.  People can be surprised that humour comes into therapy, but believe me it does, and is often an essential part of the work! It's about being human!

I believe our relationship is key to the success of the therapy, so I bring all of myself into our time together.    I am warm, present and candid and will listen with compassion.  Given this, if you're looking for a 'blank slate' therapist, we are probably not a good fit.

Working with integrity is essential.  You need to trust that I will operate ethically, legally and honestly.  After all, it is a huge thing to share yourself with a stranger.   I commit to ethical & legal values in my work, giving you peace of mind. As a member of the NCPS and BACP I always work according to their ethical guidelines.

Professional Membership

I am a registered member of the BACP (membership number 00982289) and an Accredited Registrant member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

I abide by the ethical guidelines of the BACP and NCPS and have an Advanced Diploma in Counselling.
